1. AIIMS and ISRO sign historic MoU to advance space medicine research in India
- On March 9, 2026, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on advancing research in space medicine. The MoU was signed between M Srinivas, Director (AIIMS), New Delhi, and Dinesh Kumar Singh, Director, Human Space Flight Centre (HSFC), ISRO.
- According to the release, this collaboration establishes a cooperative framework for ground-based and space-based research in Space Medicine, covering areas such as human physiology, cardiovascular and autonomic regulation, musculoskeletal health in microgravity, microbiome and immunology, genomics and biomarkers, and behavioural health.
- According to the release, this partnership marks a significant step toward strengthening India's capabilities in human spaceflight and biomedical research, contributing to the nation's scientific aspirations as India progresses toward its centenary in 2047 and the broader vision of Viksit Bharat. 2. IIT-G partners with UK institute to strengthen AI use in healthcare

3. Indonesia inks deal to buy BrahMos missiles from India amid defence push
- Indonesia has entered an agreement with India to procure the BrahMos missile system, its defence ministry spokesperson Rico Ricardo Sirait on March 9, 2026.
- In 2023, BrahMos, a company co-owned by the Indian and Russian governments, told Reuters it was in advanced discussions with Jakarta on a deal worth $200 million to $350 million.

7. Paras Defence bags Rs 80.28 crore DRDO order for high-precision air defence optical system

9. India’s first Ring Metro goes operational as PM Modi inaugurates two new corridors
